Recently Porsche again claiming bollocks on the GT-R’s recent timing of 7:27 at the ‘Ring. Porsche’s new 2010 GT3 is undoubtedly hardcore with naturally aspirated 3.8-liter flat-six churning out an ultra high-revving 435hp and its track-tuned chassis allows it to dance with the world’s most nimble supercars.
The new GT3 has been timed at an unofficial 7:40 with Porsche driving ace Walter Rohrl piloting the car for the sprightly lap. While that time may not be enough to best the 7:26 from the 638hp Corvette ZR1 but it’s a very impressive time nonetheless considering Rohrl posted a 7:45 in a borrowed ultra-hardcore Ferrari F430 Scuderia.
That still doesn’t come close to Nissan’s famed 7:27 though and the Japanese car-makers are probably not impressed at the GT3’s timing. However Porsche telling Motor Trend that the twin-turbo Nissan is only good for a time of 7:56 in stock US form. That’s a lot of difference, 30 seconds slower than reports from Nissan can cause some serious credibility damage.
